1) Participants must be from MP who lives & are occupied in MP (studentship, content creation & working person)

2) They are from college and school (11th & 12th), creation industry mainly who are creators & influencers

3) There is min. age of 17 and max. age of 28 for participants

4) Team must use of Mobile or DSLR Camera.

5) Registration only through link & QR code with paying of charges:

  Mobile category 1500

  Camera shoot 2500

6) 48-hour film making challenge would be Begin on Thursday 20 March at 10am IST and end to Saturday 22 March at 10am IST (tentative dates)

7) Short film would be in duration of (excluding end credits): 4 to 6 minutes for Mobile Horizontal and Camera category and 2-3 minutes for Mobile Vertical

8) Team members will get the Theme, Genre & Compulsory element on MPFP official Instagram page as well as on the registered Team Leader’s Email IDs

9) Structure and format of the short film (included in film duration) The teams should use the ‘Opening Slide’, i.e. clip/slate of MPFP title with theme (would be given to team leader at beginning of the challenge through email & page) Opening slate/slide is part of the film and hence, count in the total duration of your film. Following is the structure of short film ---- -MPFP Title Slate (provided at beginning of the challenge to the Team Leader)
- 1 second of blank
- 3 seconds of black slate with Film Name
- Your movie

- End credits (excluded from duration)

10) Format of video file

The final video must be uploaded in MP4/MOV/MPEG-4 format. The uploaded video should be in 1080p and strictly below from 2 GB.

11) All the file names should be your Creator ID. For instance, if your creator ID is TA2140, your file should be TA2140.mp4 (Film), TA2140.srt (Subtitle), TA2140.pdf (Creator’s Agreement).

 12) For team, Camera category should be used DSLR or film camera with at least capturing 1080p video and For Mobile category should be capture minimum of 1080p videos

13) Aspect Ratio:
-16:9 for Camera & Mobile (Horizontal)
-9:16 for Mobile (Vertical)

14) Team must edit its short film on Laptop/Computer

 15) Film’s language should be Hindi, the subtitles must be provided separately in a formatted SRT file (You can use this tool – aegisub.org / Dubverse.ai / or any other free tool to create Subtitles)

 16) Teams are encouraged to work with local composers and musicians to write and compose music for the films (specially that can also belong to local folk & element). Teams can use pre-recorded music if they have the rights on it. Copyrighted tracks can be used up to 15 seconds along with a compulsory mention of the composer and music link in the end credit of the film. The Sound must be Stereo. 

17) A compulsory element must be used in film (will send to the beginning of challenge). You can use them any section of video.

 18) Team cannot use recorded & stock footage/video created earlier. Photographs can be used in a film, only if the team has the rights to use them.

19) Team can only submit their short film through provided link to registered email ID of Team leader

 20) Team member must be min 1 and max. 10 and give their names in attached format of creators’ agreement

21) All team members must be volunteer (give them e-certificate) *not included actors, procurement need supplier

 22) Along with uploading the film, the teams are required to sign and submit the Creator’s agreement online which shall be sent to leaders’ Mail.  

23) Team must be submitting their works in 48 hours, we understand some team face technical issue and other issues while submission. So ideal time for creation should be 46 hours and 2 hours for uploading.

If it will be happened, give extra 4 hours but we will conduct fair challenge so deduction in marks will apply followingly:

- 0 to 1 hours - 5%
- 1 to 2 hours - 7.5%
- 2 to 4 hours - 10%

 24) We advise short film should upload through computer or laptop (don’t use of mobile for uploading)

 25) For being eligible, short film & its content does not hurt/violate someone’s personal rights, religious beliefs, incites violence or creates derogatory remarks about someone’s sexuality or belief. And not invading to person, firm and entity

26) MPFP reserves the right to change or alter any rules of given above, prior before to beginning of the challenge and with update through Instagram

27) MPFP and its partners keep the rights for using your short film for any purpose

28) If once you pay the amount of participation that never be refund

Q. What is MPFP & challenge?

A. MPFP Project is the primary platform in Madhya Pradesh for filmmaking enthusiasts and youth. We are hosting events and challenges that provide opportunities to connect, grow, collaborate, and create a vibrant film community.

Primarily, we are organizing a 48-hour short film challenge for aspiring filmmakers to showcase their creativity in storytelling. Participants will have 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film based on a theme and genre.

Q. How to get participate?

A. Interested participants can register only through:

  • The registration form on our website.
  • QR codes available on print materials.

Q. I am not from MP. Can I participate?

A. Yes, you can participate. However, the only criterion is to create a short film based on Madhya Pradesh and its theme.

Q. What kind of information must I submit?

A. In the registration form, participants must provide:

  • Team leader's personal details.
  • Contact information.
  • Details about the device used for filmmaking.
  • Team member details.

Q. Why is device information required?

A. This information helps us categorize participants based on the devices they use for filmmaking, ensuring transparency in evaluation.

Q. How many team members can be in a team?

A. A team must consist of:

  • Minimum: 2 members
  • Maximum: 10 members (including the team leader)

Q. What are the criteria to participate in the challenge?

A. Participants must:

  • Reside in Madhya Pradesh.
  • Be school (11th-12th), college students, content creators, or influencers.
  • Be aged 17-28 years.
  • Use a mobile phone or DSLR camera for filmmaking.

Q. What are the evaluation criteria?

A. The films will be evaluated based on:

  • Visual appeal
  • Story
  • Narrative flow
  • Characters
  • On-screen performance
  • Adherence to the category, theme, and genre

Q. Can I edit from mobile?

A. No, all editing must be done using a laptop/desktop.

Q. What is the Creator's Agreement?

A. It is a legal document outlining the terms and conditions, criteria for participation, and rights regarding team works and their content.

  • It must be signed by all participants.
  • The agreement format can be downloaded or will be sent via email before the challenge.

Q. Are special effects allowed?

A. Yes, special effects are allowed, provided they are relevant to the story.

Q. What will be the duration of the short films?

A. Film duration details:

  • Camera & Mobile Horizontal: 4 to 6 minutes.
  • Mobile Vertical: 2 to 3 minutes.

Q. Does the maximum length of the film include end credits?

A. No, end credits are excluded from the main short film duration.

Q. Can I modify my team after registering?

A. Yes, changes to the team can be made before the challenge date by sending a request to our official email ID. Changes are not allowed after the challenge begins.

Q. What should be the resolution and aspect ratio of the short film?

A.

  • Resolution: Minimum 1080p.
  • File size: Must be below 2GB.
  • Aspect ratio:
    • Camera & Mobile Horizontal: 16:9
    • Mobile Vertical: 9:16

Q. How do I upload my film faster?

A. Use a laptop/desktop to ensure smooth uploading.

Q. What should be the file format and sound specifications?

A.

  • File format: MP4/MOV/MPEG-4
  • File naming: Use your team code (e.g., teamcode.mp4)

    1. Initial evaluation by internal experts.

    3. Final evaluation by film experts to select nominees.
